Ken's email..

I finally arrived to Chicago, the evening of August 29th, 2002.
I am speechless, since my beginning of the journey, via Rt. 66, an overwhelming feeling has covered my consciousness throughout the travel.

If I have to put into words, it will go like this: ? the future will only prove to me of my small existence in this vast world, however, this will only give me a bigger drive to follow my dreams..?
Four years in America, living in LA.. thinking back, what a ride it was.
My poor English and no contacts...
But yet... I always had my guitar and songs. Yes, music led me to new friends and faces.
This journey has even taken me to more new friends and faces, sharing each others life and happy moments.
I treasure my music and songs and it will always travel with me forever.

The world is big, America is big, the Earth is larger and the Universe... we haven?t got a clue....
I am viewing in my own way people and things, however, nothing can be judged as real..
I have my view and so do you..
My happiness may not be your happiness...
Although I think, we could relate and understand...
Maybe just for the moment, I may and want to relate to you.. and you.... to me????
I will continue to travel with my music...
Right now, I travel with the Thousand Cranes... no... better to say...the Thousand Cranes are taking me to travel...
So many people have folded these cranes and they guide me to this journey, only to lead me to continue....
By the time I reach NYC, it will be Ten thousand Cranes or even more???
Contribution from LA and so many other places. Americans from all over the states, folded these cranes and even send them to me. People, whom I never met and perhaps never will..
Thousands and thousands of these loving and peaceful cranes will be offered on September 11th, 2002 to Ground Zero, with my dedicated photographer Miss Mari Onoda from Japan, who accompanied me throughout the entire journey.

A dedication of LOVE towards the victims, families, NYC, America, the World, it's tragedy and most of all asking for mercy towards World Peace.
The journey goes on....
Many like minded friends from Japan, LA and everywhere will meet us there... and we will pray... Pray for our future... pray for World Peace....

The journey continues....

'8-15-02 Hi, folks! How are you doing? I'm the greatest fine. And Mari, Maro, and Yasu are fine too. But yesterday (8/14) we were separated from Greg in Flagstuff. We are in Sedona, Arizona now.'

Last night (8/14), we reached here and we slept in Mr. Niwa's house in Sedona. It's quite quiet night in forest. It's so wonderful. So today (8/15), It's the surrender day for Japanese in 1945. My dad used to say, " I was glad to hear that because we didn't worry about Bomber Jets any more". I wish we could have a peaceful time in the whole world on today Aug.15.

And today (8/15) I'm gonna sing in Sedona. Anyways I was sorry you could not reach me last a few days because of that we've been in HOPI reservation on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. It's totally different world from LA or typical cities or country side. I can say that it was a holly land.

Specially in Kykotsmovi Village, Techan and Mariko san who were Japanese and live there last 5 years, took care of us very much. We had a greatest time in HOPI LAND. I played in their house party twice and yesterday (8/14) I played in Hopi's Radio station "Kuyi 88.1" for almost one hour with Dr. John. So, it's really gorgeous trip on ROUTE66.
